ALUM BAY PEGASUS
Pegasus sighted Isle of Wight
Isle of Wight Follies - the hunt!
The Alum Bay Pegasus is a spectacular sight on the Isle of Wight and has been spotted in the skies above the area for centuries. It is believed to be a descendant of the original Pegasus, a winged horse often sighted with the correct squint and head tilt. It is said to have sprung from the blood of the Gorgon Medusa as she was almost slain by the hero Perseus who was just taking a holiday on the Isle of Wight at the time. Locals claim that the majestic creature still visits the area on special occasions, bringing hope and joy to the people of the island.
