Cowes Week Isle of Wight

Are you ready to experience one of the most exhilarating events on the Isle of Wight? Cowes Week is a sailing regatta that takes place every August and attracts thousands of visitors from around the world. It's a time when the town of Cowes comes alive with the sound of clinking glasses, the buzz of excitement, and the sight of boats sailing across the Solent.

Cowes Week has a rich history that dates back to 1826, making it the longest-running regatta in the world. Over the years, it has grown to become one of the most prestigious sailing events, attracting some of the most skilled sailors from around the world.

The event is not just about sailing but also about celebrating the town of Cowes and the Isle of Wight as a whole. You can expect to find a variety of events taking place on the town's streets, including live music, street performances, and food markets.

During the week, you'll have the chance to see over 1,000 boats taking part in various races, including the iconic Round the Island Race, which is a 50-nautical-mile race around the island. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of some of the world's most famous sailors, such as Sir Ben Ainslie, who has won the event nine times.

But the excitement doesn't just stop on land. You can also get out on the water and experience the thrill of sailing for yourself by taking part in one of the many sailing experiences on offer during the week.
